Update on Players with Aug 15 Draft Rights Expiry

As we outlined earlier this summer, several drafted players playing in college were set to be Unrestricted Free Agents on August 15. Unlike players drafted and playing outside of college, college players do not automatically become UFA's on the expiry date. Instead, they are required to submit paperwork proving either graduation or that they are no longer enrolled in college. Until the required supporting application is submitted and approved by the NHL, the players remain on their NHL teams' reserve lists.
While we expect these players to be UFA's, their paperwork and application has not yet been completed, and their rights are still technically owned by their NHL team:
Matt Copponi (EDM)
Matteo Costantini (BUF)
Ryder Donovan (VGK)
Braden Doyle (LAK)
William Francis (ANA)
Ty Gallagher (BOS)
Jack Hughes (LAK)
Dominic James (CHI)
Justin Janicke (SEA)
Hank Kempf (COL)
Joel Määttä (EDM)
Tomas Mazura (EDM)
Chase Mclane (NSH)
Luca Münzenberger (EDM)
Red Savage (DET)
Wyatt Schingoethe (TOR)
Isak Walther (NSH)
As soon as these players officially become UFA's, their status will be updated on PuckPedia.
The following players did officially become UFA's on Aug 15:
BOS Jake Schmaltz
CBJ Aidan Hreschuk
