Why isn't there any cap responsibility following Kuznetsov being placed on waivers?

Kuznetsov was not placed on regular waivers, he was placed on waivers for the purposes of mutual termination. It is rare for a player with a large cap hit to agree to terminate, because that means they will not receive the remaining pay owing on the contract. Since Kuznetsov agreed to mutually terminate, there is no cap hit going forward.
