I was looking at Ryan Reaves buyout, and I wanted to know if the 35+ contracts rules had been changed. Can the Leafs get cap relief?

The rules regarding 35+ contracts were revised in the 2020 CBA MOU.

Because Reaves' contract does not decrease from one year to the next and does not include signing bonuses after the 1st year, it does not qualify as a 35+ contract. Therefore, if it was bought out next summer, it would be treated like a regular buyout
