After four years of college hockey that saw the 23 year-old defenseman play for Brown University and Providence College, defenseman Luke Krys has agreed on a two-year Entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars that starts in the 2024-2025 season. PuckPedia.com reports that his contract in each year includes a salary in the NHL of $775,000, a signing bonus of $95,000, a games played bonus of $80,000 and a minor-league salary of $82,500. The $775,000 is the league minimum salary, while $82,500 is the maximum minor-league salary for a player on an Entry-level deal.
Krys ends his collegiate hockey career with 15 goals and 40 assists in 127 games as he now makes his way to the Texas Stars in the AHL. A captain at Brown University, Krys took home NCAA All-Ivy League Second Team in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons before making the move to Providence College. Originally undrafted, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman will look to add a veteran presence to an already stacked Texas Stars blue line.
