How soon after an injury can you place a player on LTIR?

A player can be placed on LTIR the day after the last game was played. In some cases, the decision is not made to place the player on LTIR for several days or weeks; the player can be placed on LTIR retroactive to the day after their last game played. The advantage of putting the player on LTIR retroactively is that they are eligible to be activated 10 games and 24 days after the last game played.
